Anthony Gomez, Senior Pastor
A native of Hawaii, Anthony moved around quite a bit growing up. His childhood years were mostly spent in Hawaii, California, and Washington. When he began middle school, the family transitioned from the west coast to the southern states of Georgia and Alabama. By God’s grace he became a believer in Christ while attending church with his two older brothers.
Anthony enrolled at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) in the pre-med program, but ended up graduating with honors with a B.A. in English in 2001. Through godly men and women providentially placed in his life during his college years, Anthony heard and affirmed God’s call to full-time ministry. He is currently pursuing his Masters of Divinity degree from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Anthony began serving in churches shortly after graduating high school at the age of seventeen. Throughout his college years, Anthony served as youth minister in Anniston, Birmingham, and Clanton. He joined the staff at First Baptist in August of 2013.
Anthony is married to the love of his life, Bonita, and they are beyond blessed in having three sons: Jackson (10), Cooper (6), and Hunter (2).
